Algie P. (Al) Gartin Services for Al Gartin will be held Friday, July 5, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend James Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Gartin, 90, of Meridian, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a retired Postal Letter Carrier. Mr. Gartin was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church. He was a WWII Veteran. Survivors include his daughters, Alaine Morgan and husband Oscar of Meridian, Nancy Sterling and husband Mike of Meridian; grandchildren, Kelly E. Sterling of Meridian, Michael C. Sterling, Jr. of Meridian; sister-in-law, Freda C. Bates and husband Frank of Birmingham; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle C. Gartin; parents, Walter J. and Katherine Gartin. The family requests memorials be made to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
