Funeral services for Mr. Adrian Gray Coleman will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, Meridian with Bro. Keith Lovette and Bro. Jack Giles officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Forest Lawn, Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Coleman, age 49, of Meridian entered his peaceful rest on August 28, 2018 as a result of a fatal motor vehicle accident.
Mr. Coleman was born January 9, 1969 in Huntsville, AL. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Bailey. He was a graduate of Meridian High School Class of 1987. Following graduation, Adrian joined the United States Navy where he served at various bases including Norfolk, VA on a submarine. After leaving the armed forces, he joined the Meridian Fire Department where he served 23 years serving as an EMT, Fire & Rescue Specialist, and Captain with over 90 certifications. For eight years of that tenure, he also worked at Key Field Fire Department with the Air Force division where he retired in 2014. He was a member of the International Firefighters Association Local 52 where he served as Secretary for several years. Adrian was also a HVAC Technician by trade and operated AC’s Heating & Cooling Services for over 20 years.
Adrian dedicated his career to public service and prided himself in his generous and genuine care for people. He was a great provider for his family and his sons were the joy of his life. He was a dedicated father to Devin and Peyton serving as Coach for many of their sports teams and served on the Phil Hardin Board. Adrian instilled in his boys his passion for the outdoors. He fished several Bass trails as a past-time and enjoyed cooking, golfing, baseball, softball, camping, fishing, and hunting with his family and friends.
Adrian is survived by his sons, Devin Gray Coleman and Peyton Lee Coleman, as well as his wife of 22 years, Shannon Faucette Coleman; Parents, Tommy & Bonnie Tucker of Meridian; Step-Mother, Joyce Coleman of South Carolina; Parents-in-Law Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy White and Mr. & Mrs. Billy Faucette; sisters, Kim Coleman of China and Stacy Walls (J.T.) of Laurel; brothers, Scott Coleman of North Carolina and Tracy Tucker of Meridian; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Adrian was preceded in death by his father, Billy Kimbrell Coleman; sister, Lisa Dunn; Grandparents Allen & Eula Patterson, Gray & Mary Coleman, and Lucille Tucker.
He was known as “Arty” in his brotherhood of Firefighters of who have coordinated the service and will serve as pallbearers along with life-long friends Mike Powell and Mike Abate.
Adrian was a Lyme Disease Warrior for the past 6 years. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Medical Account for his son battling Lyme Disease at Meridian Mutual Federal Credit Union in the name of Devin.
