A graveside service will be held for Alan Day on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Zion Cemetery in Kemper County with Father Carlisle Beggerly officiating, burial to follow. The family will receive friends Friday, September 4, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home prior to graveside services. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Alan Day, age 65, of Meridian passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Alan attended and graduated from Meridian High School and had a fulfilling career as a service manager at Maples Gas, where he dedicated many years until his retirement in 2016 due to health reasons. Whether fishing or strumming his guitar he found joy in nature and music, embracing life's simple pleasures. Known for his gift of gab, he never met a stranger and had an incredible ability to leave a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His love for his family gave him great titles such as a loving husband, father, granddaddy, and friend, he will be missed by his family and all how knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife Suzanne Day; daughters, Shannon Day and Ashley Sims (Derick); grandsons, Austin Day, Declan and Connor Sims, and Ryland Day; a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Alex Day; parents, Franklin D. And Mary Day; brother, Christopher Day.

Pallbearers will be Derick Sims, Austin Day, Victor May, Charles Gough, Matthew Buchanan, and John Harwell.
