Funeral services for Dudley Valentine will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Church, with Father Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Valentine, 93, passed away January 14 at Poplar Springs Nursing Center.
Dudley was a veteran of World War II and was employed by Bell South for forty years. He was very active at St. Patrick’s Church and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He also had a prison ministry at Lost Gap Correctional Facility.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Myrtle Covington Valentine; his children, A.D. “Butch” (Judi) Valentine, Jr., Dennis (Amy) Valentine, and Jan (Gordon) Sterling; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jesse and Lillie Valentine; sisters, Mae Jewel Valentine and Lucille Brister; brother, Kirby Valentine; and grandson, William Wilson Valentine.
The family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Patrick’s Church or charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 15, from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
