Mr. Herrington, age 76, of Collinsville passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at his home.
Frank was born and raised in the Martin Community of Collinsville, Mississippi. He attended school at Center Hill and entered the military following. While working at the paper mill in Pennington, Alabama, Frank surrendered his life to Christ and followed after Him. Shortly after he was called to the ministry and moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina, to attend the Southern Methodist Bible College where he graduated with a BA in Bible. He preached in churches in South Carolina, Florida, and Mississippi before his retirement.
Frank’s family is thankful and blessed by his example of God’s love and for drawing them to the Lord. When he decided to follow after Jesus everyone around him saw a changed man and was influenced by him. He enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, working with his hands as a carpenter, and was a serious domino player, but above all he loved his Saviour, Jesus Christ, and showed that compassion to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted Herrington and Fae Hodges Herrington; his son, Allen Herrington; brother, Dan Herrington; and sister, Gwen Bonds.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Herrington; daughters, Genia Buck (Steve) and Angela Fountain (Paul); son, Frankie Herrington (Juli); daughter-in-law, April Herrington Jerkins; grandchildren, Hannah Herrington, Lyndsie Carmichael (Brad), Brittany Herrington, Destiny Buck, Levi Buck (Brianne), and Joshua Herrington (Chelsea); great grandchildren, Carson Fountain, Kodie Carmichael, Esther Herrington, Jayden Jackson, and Sawyer Jackson. Also, a brother, Dennis Herrington (Joyce) and two sisters, Deloris Glenn and Lee Ferretti (Joe).
