Alton Aurealias Parten

Funeral services for Mr. Alton Parten will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Midway Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Pogue officiating. Burial will follow at Toomsuba Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Alton Aurealias Parten, age 84, of Meridian, MS passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025, at his home.

Alton could be found working in his garden or out riding the grandkids on his golf cart. His other love was hunting and fishing on his family land at Hickory Grove Hunting Club in Nanafalia, AL with his sons and his father. Closer to home, Alton fished many a day for white perch on Okatibbee Reservoir with his good fishing buddy J.D. Webb. Alton was a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lyndia Joann Parten, son Alton DeWayne Parten (Dianne), grandchildren; Jared Parten (Lindsey), Brittany Robinson (Cary), and Camryn Ball (Alex), great-grandchildren; Emma Robinson, Cary Robinson, Jackson Parten, Graham Parten, Georgia Parten, and Gray Parten, siblings; Patricia Boswell, Cheryl Jones, and William Parten (Debbie), brother-in-law Tommy Butler (Galye), and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brad Parten, his parents, Douglas and Lorene Parten, brothers; J.B. Parten and Buddy Parten.

Pallbearers will be his fellow deacons of Midway Baptist Church.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Midway Baptist Church in Mr. Alton's honor.
