Alver Lester "Buddy" Ritch, Jr.

Graveside Services for Buddy Ritch will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2:30 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ritch 93, of Homewood, AL passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Fisher House in Meridian, MS.

He was a Veteran of the US Navy and a longtime  resident of West End neighborhood in Birmingham.

Mr. Ritch graduated from Samford University, and UAB with a Masters Degree in Education and was retired from the State of Alabama as an Occupational Rehabilitation Counselor.

Survivors include his nieces, Patrice M. McArthur(Randy) Douglasville, GA, Terri Carpenter, Huntsville, AL, Jackie Neal(Jetson) Meridian,MS, Jayne Mckinion (Keith) Meridian,MS,  Sharon Barham (Bob) Meridian,MS,  numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife of 55 years, Mary Frances Herd Ritch, brother, Jack Ritch, sister, Frances Ritch Minor, parents, Mildred Morris Ritch and Alver Lester Ritch Sr.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 1:30 - 2:30 at Elmwood Cemetery Chapel.
