Angeline Shealy Vance Services for Angeline Shealy Vance will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 11:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Allan Wade Singletary officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Vance, 86, of Meridian died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Newton County on June 27, 1924, and was a graduate of Conehatta High School. Mrs. Vance was a member of Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church since 1952. She had the true gift of hospitality. Mrs. Vance worked at Burnley Shirt Factory and was an accomplished seamstress. She made all of her and her daughter's clothes for many years. She retired from the alterations department at J.C. Penney. Survivors include her daughters Betty Lynn Vance Harpe and husband E.C. of Florence, MS and Dianne Vance Waldron and husband Charles of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren Spencer Harpe, Philip Waldron, Vance Waldron and wife Kala, Tracy Harpe Branch and husband Clay, Adam Waldron and wife Erin, and Carrie Waldron; one great-grandchild Sarah Kathryn Branch; and sister Mary Elois Taylor Godeaux of Meridian and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty -five years, Royce Homer Vance, her parents Vester and Carrie Shealy and brother Adolph Shealy and wife Carrie. The family requests memorials be made to Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers will be Adam Waldron, Vance Waldron, Alan Flint, Jimmy Taylor, Pat Taylor and Kevin Vance. Family and friends may sign the online guest book www.robertbarhamffh.com Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service.
