Mrs. Hargon, 94, of Meridian, Mississippi, was born March 16, 1930, and passed away peacefully Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Anne's early years were spent excelling in academics at Chalk Elementary School, and she took pride in graduating from Meridian High Schoolwith highest honors. Professionally, Anne was a loved employee of Internal Medicine Clinic for many years as she worked alongside Dr. Callahan, Dr. Boone, Dr. Greer, Dr. Clark, and Dr. Reid. She took pride in their collective achievements and cherished the camaraderie shared with the staff. She was affectionately known as “Granny Annie” to her co-workers after she became a grandmother.

Outside of work, Anne's passions were as diverse as her spirit. She found solace in gardening, enlightenment in reading, and a connection to her roots through genealogy. Her zest for life was infectious, marked by a beautiful smile that could light up any room and a kind heart that never missed a beat in offering warmth and support.

Anne is survived by her daughters, Diane Wells (Ronnie), and Robin Glebe (Dennis) both of Meridian; three grandchildren, Kelli Wells Rainer (Chad) of Collinsville, Jonathan Wells of New Orleans, and Austin Glebe who is currently studying in Bangor, Wales; two great-grandsons, Connor Rainer and Cooper Rainer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anne's love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of her beloved pets including Annie the Yorkie, Angel, Lucy, Sheba, Scout, and Smudge who were not just pets but faithful companions through various chapters of her life.

Anne is preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Hargon; her son, Mark Perry Hargon; her parents, Jay L. and Mattie Lee Brown; her sisters, Gloria Brown Bruister, and Mary Emma Wright; and her brother, Charles Gideon Brown.

Anne's bond with her family was a source of strength and joy. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever inspire those she left behind.

Memorials may be made to the MCC Foundation to a scholarship fund in her honor.
