Funeral services for Annie Shumate will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Carl White officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Shumate, age 90, of Meridian passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Rush Foundation Hospital.

She was a lifelong member of Highland Baptist Church. Annie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Lowery “Rush” Shumate; daughter, Pamela Thompson and husband, Mickey; son, Gary Shumate and wife, Stacy; grandchildren, Jason Thompson, Tori Rhodus and husband, Chris, Stephanie White, Justin Shumate, and Kayla Shumate; great grandchildren, Morgan, Evan, Josh, Cooper, Gracie, and Malcolm; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, R.A. and Montye Edwards; siblings, Rudolph Edwards, Nell Buie, Gayle Cooper, and Kenneth Edwards; and two infant sisters.
