Army Spc Joshua David Carlson

Funeral Services for Army SPC Joshua David Carlson will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 with Rev. David Chandler officiating at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Mississippi Veterans Cemetery in Newton, MS with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carlson, age 23, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Ft. Campbell, KY.

SPC Carlson was a graduate of North East Lauderdale High school, Meridian Community College as well as East Mississippi Community College. He was a member of First Assembly Meridian. He was known for his ability to make others laugh and smile even amidst the hardest of times, which helped make tough situations a little easier to bear. Joshua always knew the right words to encourage others, once you were a friend you were a friend for life. Joshua also loved to play sports growing up and always supported the local teams wherever he was stationed.

SPC Carlson is survived by his wife Carmen Carlson; mother Teresa Jonas (Michael); Father Jerry Carlson (Michelle); sisters, Anja Carlson Ellis (Brad), Kelly Evans (Joe) and Racheal Worfolk; one brother, Adam Worfolk (Nikky), as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Claudine Carlson.
