Mr. Hodgins, 96, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the VA Nursing Center in Kosciusko, Mississippi.
Mr. Hodgins worked as a building and roofing contractor until retirement around 2010. He was a WWII Navy veteran, 1st Class Gunner Mate aboard PC587 and the USS Fallon from 1942-1945.
He is survived by his daughter, Glenda Gordon, of Meridian; six grandchildren, Todd Gordon, Brian Gordon, Scott Gordon, Greg Dawkins, Stephen Dawkins, and Ashley Mullinax, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Juanice Ethridge Hodgins; son, George Terry Dawkins; parents, Reuben and Caroline Hodgins; three sisters, Mayola Vaughn, Irene Hodgins, and Madi Merle Hudson and brother, George Hodgins; five step-brothers, Neil, Rodge, Ray, Bob, and Rueben Hodgins and two step-sisters, Lula Phillips and Java Hamrick.
