Funeral services for Mr. Arthur B. "Benny" Eggler, Jr. will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Reverend Matt Hall officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Benny Eggler, Jr., 75, of Meridian, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Benny was a 1967 Meridian High School and 1971 Belhaven College graduate. He retired from the NAS Meridian fire department after 26 years of dedicated service. While at the department, he served as the President of the local chapter of the American Federal Government Employees union, lobbying on behalf of government workers. Following his retirement, he served for many years as the Recorder Emeritus of the Hamasa Temple Shriners.

Benny was well-known for his love of music, serving as choir director for several churches throughout the state. Singing was a passion for Benny from a young age and he was part of numerous choirs in the area including the Meridian Community College and Symphony choirs. He also shared his talents on the Meridian Little Theatre stage, taking on roles in "The Music Man" and "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas".

Benny is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Janice; Children, Denise (David), Nikki (Mickey), Wendy, Diana (David); Sister, Becky (Greg); Grandchildren, Zac (Hannah), Nate, Olivia, Hawk, Tensley, Kiegan, Erin, Bailey and Andy; Great-grandchildren, Harper, Gentry, Marli, Navy, Baby Johnson number 5, Skylar, JK and Luca; Sister-in-law, Sheila; and "chosen daughter", Angie. He also leaves behind several nephews, nieces and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by parents, Art and Liz Eggler and sister, Wanda Eggler.

Pallbearers will be Zac Johnson, Nate Johnson, Hawk Allen, Gregory Clemts Jr., Joey Clemts and Andrew Clemts.

Honorary pallbearers are David Johnson and David White.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ochsner's Rush ICU South for their tremendous care over the last few days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hamasa Transportation Fund for the Shriner's Children's Hospital at PO Box 365 Meridian, MS 39302.
