Arthur Lee East Iii

A celebration of life service for Arthur Lee East III will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.

Mr. East, 59, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

Lee was born in Canton, Mississippi to the late Arthur L. (Jr.) East and the late Betty J. Cox East. In 1977, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Davidson and the USNS Passumpsic. His last active military duty station was a return to Meridian, Mississippi with his posting at the Naval Air Station in December of 1981. After his discharge from active duty in January of 1983, Lee continued his time at NAS with the US Department of Defense/U.S. Navy as a civil service employee, where he remained until retirement in March of 2014.

Lee is survived by his siblings, JaNelle East, Lynda Hardy, Robert East, and Daniel East; nieces, Tiffany Sikes and Christina “Tina” Hedgepeth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Llewellyn Henry (Sr.) and Lottie Rice Cox and Arthur Lee (Sr.) and Mary Parrett East.

The family requests memorials be made in Lee’s honor to the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
