Funeral Services for Mr. Austin D. McCary will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Jones and Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Burial will be held at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McCary, 81, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at James T. Champion Nursing Home.

Mr. McCary was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was active in the Builders for Christ Mission trips. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a wonderful husband, father and papaw who was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife, Delois Rawson McCary; his sons, Greg McCary and Lamont “Monty” McCary; daughter, Kathy Wittmer; stepsons, Tommy Currie (Debbie), Robert Rawson Jr. (Angela), and Randy Rawson (Trish); stepdaughters, Deborah Ann Williams (Keith), Maurine King (Tony), and Darlene Rawson Ortego (Jason); brothers, R.C. McCary (Mildred), James McCary (Aline), and Gerald McCary and sister, Rita Riley; sisters-in-law, Elaine McCary, and HuiCha McCary, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Mellie McCary; brothers, W.H. McCary, Major McCary, Odis McCary, Horace McCary, and Adolph McCary and sisters, Rosie Smith, Marjorie Torrance, and Callie Gross.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Builders for Christ or the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund.
