Ayrrell S. Clayton Graveside services for Ayrrell S. Clayton will be held Tuesday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery, with Reverend Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Clayton, 89, of Meridian, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Clayton was a lifelong member of 15th Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. As a Boy Scout, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army Air Force. He began his career as a railway mail clerk with the U. S. Postal Service before retiring as a supervisor after 36 years. He then went on to work in the mail room for Southern Pipe and Supply Company for another 10 years. His pleasure came from spending time at home with family, gardening, and loving his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Charlene Vincent Clayton of Meridian, son, Todd Andrew Clayton and wife, Kristi of Jackson, daughters Amy Elizabeth Price and husband, Philip of Meridian and Jane Arlene Cory and husband, Michael of Jackson; grandchildren, Christopher Price, Amanda Price, Sidney Clayton, Davis Clayton, Grady Clayton, Ross Hopkins, Caroline Hopkins, Tripp Cory, and Sarah Cory. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin Everett and Bernice Otto Clayton, sister, Leuna Sullivan and brother, Everett Clayton Family request memorials be made to 15Th Ave. Baptist Church Building Fund. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great nephew Benjamin Eakes. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at rbffh.com. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7p.m. at the funeral home.
