Barbara Ann Shelton

Barbara Ann "Bobby" Shelton, age 90, passed away on June 2, 2025 at Bedford Care Center of Marion, Mississippi.

Barbara was born on May 30, 1935 to Dorine and Ralph McWhirter in Illinois. She married Jesse Shelton and lived in Denver, Colorado most of her life. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Collinsville, Mississippi to be closer to her family.

Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Shelton; her stepson, Thornton Shelton; her brother and sister in law, Michael and Marjorie McWhirter; and her sister and brother in law, Anita and Bob Brooks.

Barbara is survived by her stepson, Thurman Shelton; her nephews, Michael Lee McWhirter, Nikolas McWhirter, Gregg Brooks; and her nieces, Laurie Wilson and Kobi McWhirter.

Cremation rites for Mrs. Shelton have been accorded. A private family graveside service will be held in Illinois at a later date.
