Barbara Jones Sims

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Jones Sims will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Dr. John Temple officiating. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Sims, age 87, of Meridian passed away May 18, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

Barbara was a graduate of Central High School in Waynesboro, MS, graduating with high honors. Following high school, she attended Draughon’s Business College in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Barbara worked for the Meridian Star and Howard Lamar Accounting Firm before her early retirement. She loved to travel and visited all fifty states. Mrs. Sims was a member of State Boulevard Baptist Church from 1957-2006 and a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church at the time of her passing.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Ronald C.) Morton; grandsons, Bailey and Addison Morton; sister, Kathryn Chancellor; and her brother, Robert Jones, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary L. Sims; son, Jonathan Sims; and her daughter, Joy Leann Sims.

The family requests memorials be made to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church.
