Graveside services for Mr. Benny Huey Freeman will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery, with his grandson, Bro. Brian Freeman officiating. The family will receive guests on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Benny Huey Freeman, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Mr. Freeman was a lifelong resident of the Meehan Community, graduating from Meehan School and raising his family there, along with his wife of 63 years, Glenda. Mr. Freeman was a proud member of the Teamsters Union, delivering freight all around the southeastern US for Western Auto and Roadway companies. Mr. Huey loved to share stories about his growing up in the Meehan community as well as tales of hunting and fishing. In his later years, he could be found riding around the community on his side-by-side stopping to visit with neighbors and friends. Mr. Freeman was a longtime member of Chunky Baptist Church and a founding member of the Pine Forest Hunting Club.

He is survived by his children, Randy Freeman (Suzanne) of Stonewall, Rhonda Harris of Hickory and Greg Freeman (Kimbraly) of Meehan; grandchildren, Heather Hatcher (Ben), Brian Freeman (Coty), Brent Freeman (Danielle) and Amy Hillman (Caleb Haney) all of Enterprise, Amanda Whitman (Danny) and Melissa Harris of Hickory, and Daniel Freeman of Meehan; 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Delois Burnett of Union, sister-in-laws Barbara Little (Gene) of Pascagoula and Maureen Smith (Lanoyte) of Causeyville, and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Joyce Snowden Freeman; his parents, Emory "Cricket" and Dollie Freeman; brothers, Doris Freeman, Laverne Freeman, DL Freeman, Arthur Freeman, and Ray Freeman; sisters, Oneida Blackwell and Hazel Mabry; and great-great grandchild, Boston.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff and residents at Brookdale Senior Living for loving "Mr. Benny" during his stay there.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Mr. Benny to the "Christmas Fund" at Brookdale Senior Living Center, 4555 35th Avenue, Meridian, MS 39305. Checks can be made payable to "Brookdale of Meridian."

Brian Freeman, Brent Freeman, Daniel Freeman, Eli Hatcher, Ryder Freeman, and Bo Rook Freeman will serve as pallbearers with Zelton Mabry, Bill Johnson, Roger Shirley, Charles Hurst, Mike Luke, Johnny Ferguson, and Stan Nelson serving as honorary pallbearers.
