Bernard Knost

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Bernard Lee Knost, age 74, on December 8th, 2025. He was born to John Henry Knost III (Jack) and Shirley Irene Knost on May 13th,1951 in Freeport, TX. He was a long-time resident of Meridian, MS and passed away surrounded by family.

Bernard became a software consultant/instructor for Sun Micro Systems in California and traveled the world before settling in Meridian, MS near family. He enjoyed many hobbies and was well known for his artwork. He was a formidable competitor because he was sharp and fearless, but he also had a big heart and was always generous with his blessings. His quirky sense of humor and love of life will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brothers, John Knost IV, Marion Knost, Michael Knost(Denise) and sisters Lola Knost Burnstein(Eric), Marcella Knost Brunell(Mike), Laurie Knost Hall, Marie Knost Fason(David), and many dear friends, those he helped in his short but impactful life. He is also survived by nephews John Knost V(Gillian), Andy Knost, Matt Knost, Joshua Knost(Shyenne), Jacob Knost(Kristen), and Dustin Hall(Rosela), nieces Jan Parks, Kelly Hall Sharp(Justin), Mandy Sumrall(Sam), Misty Mabry(Ragan), Morgan Keen(Matt), and Montana Glass(Nik), great-nephews Wyatt Knost, Jace Knost, Nassin Knost, Zachary Hall, Dylan Hall, Buck Sharp, Kain Busby, Ash Busby, Gavin Mabry, Nolan Mabry, Paton Mabry, Bryne Stamper, Dragon Keen, and Bash Keen, great-nieces Lily Grace Knost, Mary Blake Knost, Alexis Hall, Abby Hall, Emma Sharp, Ziva Busby and Jada Clark. He was also survived by an aunt Nita Dugar.

A private celebration of his life with family will be held at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, 6300 Highway 39 North, Meridian MS. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in Bernard's honor.
