Betty Joan Hines Heptinstall Services for Betty Joan Hines Heptinstall will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Sweeny officiating. Burial will be in Newton Masonic Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Heptinstall, age 79, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was born October 27, 1934 in Newton County, Mississippi. She graduated in 1953 from George S. Gardiner High School in Laurel, Mississippi, where she grew up, attended Jones County Junior College and worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company until she married Harrell Thomas Heptinstall on December 18, 1962 in her home church, Magnolia Street Baptist Church. She has lived in Ismir, Turkey, Arizona, Gulfport and for the past 39 years in Meridian, Mississippi. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Coast Chapter No. 41 in Gulfport and the Coast Noble Shrine Club. She enjoyed interior decorating and photography. She has videoed many blue grass music sessions of Harrell and his band as they played and sang. Survivors include one daughter, Denise Ann Randall, and one granddaughter, Jenni Harrison, both of Meridian. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harrell Thomas Heptinstall, a daughter, Darlene Elizabeth Heptinstall, and her parents Alton Hines and Virginia Hines. Pallbearers: Parker McWhirter, Noah McWhirter, Kasey McWhirter, Vincent Armstrong, Shannon Crooke and Brandon Blakeney. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
