Betty Sue Irby Retired MS Valley Gas Services for Betty Sue Irby will be held Monday, August 15, 2011 at 3:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Webb officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Irby 81, of Meridian, died Friday, August 12, 2011 at her residence. She retired from MS Valley Gas Co. after 35 years. Mrs. Irby loved her flowers and worked in her yard every day until she was unable to do so. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and Hillcrest Drive Garden Club. Mrs. Irby loved to fish and read her Bible. She loved her nieces and nephews so very much. Survivors include her son, Mark Irby and his wife Sheila of Meridian; step granddaughter, Maddie Leach of Starkville, MS; sisters Marvis Sanders of Columbus, GA, Mary Ann Teer and her husband T.G. of Farmerville, LA, Marilyn Cook and her husband Ronnie of Quitman, MS; brothers, Bryant Slay and his wife Patricia of Quitman, MS, Wesley Slay and his wife Marjorie of Quitman, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Lambert P. Irby of Meridian; parents, Robert and Mattie Slay of Quitman, MS; sister, Sybil Miller; brothers, Bobby Slay and Vernon Ray Slay.
