Her favorite title was Gigi which was originally Grandmother, in true Betty Jean fashion, this changed throughout the years. She was a devoted Sunday School Teacher, Children’s Choir Leader, Adult Choir Member, and Youth Chaperone, at Oakland Heights Baptist Church and State Boulevard Baptist Churches, during her children’s youth. She also assisted with the Care Lodge, and Boys and Girls Club. Committed to the Great Commission, she was instrumental to building a church in India, and supporting But God Ministries, and the FBC Meridian Trinidad Ministry, as well as Lottie Moon. Betty was also a testament of God’s Healing, being a survivor of Leukemia, she would use her testimony to witness to everyone she could. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Above all, her love for the Lord and His church was at the forefront of everything she did.
