Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Simms Patterson will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 11:00 a.m. with Matthew Patterson officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Patterson, 98, was a native of Clarke County, Mississippi. She resided in Seabrook, Texas. She passed away June 29, 2018 at her residence.

After his death, she continued her membership there until moving into Meridian. While living in Meridian, she moved her church membership to Highland Baptist Church. Because of failing health, she moved to Seabrook, Texas, to be cared for by her daughter, Elaine Hamilton.

Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, C.R. “Pat” Patterson; father, H.A. Simms; mother, Cora Speed Simms; brother, Hugh Simms; son, Richard Simms Patterson; and her great-granddaughter, Abby Hutchins Bunch.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by a daughter, Elaine Hamilton; four grandchildren, Richard Wilson Gilchrist, Stephanie Delker, Ben Patterson, and Matthew Patterson; thirteen great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.

The family requests donations be made to Highland Baptist Church.
