Betty “Sue” Seal

Funeral services for Sue Seal will be held Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Dr. John Temple officiating. Burial will be at 5:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Poplarville, MS with Reverend Ricky Aldridge leading.

Mrs. Seal, age 80, of Meridian, formerly of Poplarville, MS and Houston, TX, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church where she led ladies bible study. Sue, a retired educator with the Poplarville School District and Bogalusa, LA School District, was passionate about music and was a gifted pianist and singer. Raised in Houston, TX, she moved in the mid 60’s to the family farm in Pearl River County with her husband and three sons, where she quickly became acclimated to country life.

Survivors include her sons, Bryan Seal (Marjie) of Meridian and Stephen Seal (Carolyn) of Poplarville, MS; grandchildren, Jeremiah Seal (Grace Ann), Rachel Seal Guy (Anthony), Jonathan Seal (Annie), Megan Seal Walters (Mark), Stephanie Seal Walters (Ashton), and Ethan Seal; great grandchildren, Abigail, Harrison, Abel, Rory, and Bailey Ann; sisters, Linda Newell (Tom), Sherry Collins, Ann Powell, and Nell Workman; and daughter-in-law, Sylvia Bright Seal.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Bryan “J.B.” Seal and son, Lauren “Larry” Seal.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Aldersgate Sunday Fund, Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church Annie Armstrong Easter Missions Fund, or the Gideon Bible Fund.
