Graveside services for Betty Brown will be held Monday, May 16, 2016, at 12:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Dr. John Temple officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Brown, 81, formerly of Meridian, passed away May 12 at her home in McDonough, Georgia, surrounded by her family.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Meridian. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her younger years, she drove a racecar at Suqualena raceway in the Powder Puff races, and won! Throughout her life she experienced some hard times, but she never faltered in her dedication to her children and fought to protect and provide for them. It was through her sacrifices that her family learned the meaning of unconditional love, and they will forever cherish the lessons learned and the many memories shared.
She is survived by her children, Mike Clark (Maria) and Paula Gant (Randy); grandchildren, Kristina Clark, Matthew Clark (Mariah), Brandi Smith (Lee), and Jay Gant (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Caleb, Michael, Lana, Madison, and Henry IV; and siblings, Christine Jourdan and Leroy Burcham (Mely).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Brown; former husband, James Howell “Jimmy” Clark; parents, William Kirby Burcham and Minnie Bell Ross Burcham Leggett; siblings, Jenner Cecil “Slim” Burcham, Curtis Burcham, Sr., and Volyne Johnson.
