Mrs. Williams, 83, of Meridian, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Betty was a master baker renowned for her baking skills. She was a long-time member of New Hope Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the nursery, caring for generations of church family members. She loved her church family and especially enjoyed luncheons and fellowshipping with her fellow Dot Martin Sunday School Class members. Her heart was caring for children and sharing Jesus through her love of service. She enjoyed her standing hair appointments and pedicures. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was proud of her children and even more so of her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy; she was lovingly referred to as “Grammy.”
Mrs. Betty Sue is survived by her loving husband of over 63 years, Jessie Williams; their children, Dr. Mark Williams (Gay) and Marsha Boyken (Ed); her grandchildren, Ben Williams (Katie), Jordan Martin (Nina), Tim Williams; her great-granddaughter, Maria Martin; her brother, Vern Espey (Gina); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Norris and Doris Espey; her grandson, Justin Martin; her sister, Pat Bailey.
The Williams Family suggests memorials be made as donations to the Journey Together in Faith Building Fund at New Hope Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
