Bettye Jeanne Talbert Lackey Services for Bettye Jeanne Talbert Lackey will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service. Reverend Carless Evans will be officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Lackey, 85, of Meridian, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lackey was a member of Gumlog Baptist Church. She was born on May 30, 1929, in Meridian and later moved to Charleston, South Carolina. She graduated from Center Hill High School. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. A skilled and caring mother and homemaker, Bettye was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She loved to read, watch cooking channels and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching football, baseball, golf, and college basketball. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Will Lackey, Jr.; daughters, Willa Russell Frazier and husband, Willie, Vickie Patterson and husband, Randall, Toni Romans and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Stacy Russell, Grant Patterson, Randi Patterson, and Alexis Willingham; great-grandchildren, Seth and Jace Russell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bartaw and Rubye Talbert, and brothers, Bartaw Talbert, Jr. and Samuel Talbert. The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4830 McWills Circle, Jackson, Mississippi 39206.
