Bill Burkes Funeral services for Mr. Bill Burkes, will be held Tuesday, August 18th 2015, at 10:00 am at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Bonner officiating. Burial will be held at the family cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Burkes, age 71, of Meridian passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at Rush Hospital. He was a retired school teacher in Lauderdale County. Mr. Burkes was a musician all his life and played Saturdays at the local VFW and numerous other venues. Survivors include sons, Billy Burkes (Ashlyn) and Tyler Hopson; grandchildren, Quintin Lewis and Anya Hopson; sisters, Rosalie McReynolds (Chuck) and Mable Lang (Raymond), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: Wife, Etha Burkes and nine brothers and sisters.
