Bill Sharman

Funeral services for Bill Sharman will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. There will be a private family burial at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

William Duke Sharman, 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends, on Thursday, July 7th, 2016.

Billy Duke, or Bill as he was known, was born in Meridian, Mississippi on December 20, 1936, and was a lifelong member of the Meridian community. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Meridian and was a Mason. Bill worked for Dement Printing Company, The Meridian Star, and The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitative Services over his 50 plus year career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, arts and crafts, tinkering with anything that needed fixing, and sharing stories about his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Sandra Dennis, of Meridian, Randy Sharman and wife, Gina, of Meridian, and Rusty Sharman and wife, Lisa, of Birmingham, Alabama; his granddaughters, Abby Calhoun and husband, Drew, of Meridian, Sarah Sharman of Augusta, Georgia, Jamey Sharman of Meridian, and Emily Sharman of Birmingham, Alabama; and special family friend, Randall George, of Forest, Mississippi.

He is also survived by Mrs. Betty Sharman, as well as many other family and friends.

A time of gathering will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016, from 9:30a.m.-11:30a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in Meridian.
