On April 30, 2024, Billie Sue Alost passed away from a tragic accident in St. George, Utah while tandem cycling with her husband in Zion National Park.

She was born in Meridian, Mississippi March 16, 1973, to Clayton and Betty Sheffield.

She married the love of her life, Terence Alost, on July 30, 2004, in Central Park, New York.

Billie graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering.  She was employed at Dow Chemical for 27 years. In her most recent role of Operational Excellence Leader for Packaging and Specialty Plastics, she had responsibilities for improving operations of approximately 40 chemical manufacturing plants around the world. She also earned an MBA degree from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan with a focus on running an international business.

Billie lived her life to the fullest. She had a zest for life and her faith in the Lord. Her biggest joy in this life was spending time with her husband, Terry. They loved to travel the world together, exploring almost daily on their tandem bicycle. When they were not cycling or hiking, they were out dancing the night away using their ballroom dancing skills. During football season, Billie was a dedicated Saints fan, attending many games both home and away. For several years she was part of a Roller Derby team where she was known as Summer Squasher and made many lifelong friends. At home she enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Her tulips blossomed beautifully for her this spring. She loved her family and friends; we will miss her contagious smile.

She is survived by her husband, Terence James Alost, her stepchildren, Jordan Alost, and Elisabeth Alost of Louisiana, mother Betty Sheffield of Little Rock, MS, brother Michael (Tammy) Sheffield of Collinsville, MS, sister Leslie Kingery of Collinsville, MS, sister Hope (Don) Muise of Chunky, MS; father-in-law and Mother-in-law,  Thomas and Julia  Alost;  brother-In-law, Thomas (Sandra) Alost of El Paso, Texas, sister-in-law Janice (Jason) Malooly of El Paso, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clayton William (Bill) Sheffield and her Grandparents.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Alost, Michael Sheffield, Don Muise, Derik Muise, Dillon Muise, and Bryan Galloway.
