Billie Luke East Funeral service for Billie Luke East will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Kenneth Owen and Reverend Jonathan Speegle officiating. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. East, 96, of Meridian and Columbus passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Columbus. Mrs. East was a long-time member of East End United Methodist Church in Meridian, an affiliate member of College Park United Methodist Church in Meridian, and was presently a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Columbus. She was known as a singer, and she sang at numerous weddings, funerals, and other events. Mrs. East will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Survivors include her sons, John "Spud" East and wife, Evelyn of Columbus and Jeff "Corky" East and wife, Liz of Meridian and Jackson ; grandchildren, Warren East and wife, Priscilla, David East and wife, Deborah, and Jennifer East; great-grandchildren, Peyton East, Madeline East, Alex East, Stephen East, Avery East and Addison East; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. East; parents, John B. and Willie Seals Luke; grandson, Mark Lowery East; brothers and sister, Andy "Jake" Luke, Jeff P. Luke, and Maxine Luke Smith. Pallbearers will be Peyton East, Alex East, Stephen East, Joe Brian Goforth, Ed Stephens and Gene Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Gene Henley, Birdie Mae Rogers, Cile Bogan, and her many friends and co-workers at the 186th Air National Guard. The family requests memorials be made to Covenant United Methodist Church in Columbus, College Park United Methodist Church in Meridian, or a charity of your choice.
