Billy Wayne Griffith, 72, of Meridian, MS passed away Saturday April 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

His favorite hobbies were race cars, motorcycles, and classic cars. In his younger years he was an avid hunter. Billy Wayne never went anywhere without his camo water jug and a cigar. He was known as Paw-Paw to his grandkids. He was always down to have a good time especially with his friends and family.

Billy Wayne worked for Yellow Freight before starting his own business. He was the owner/operator of BG Towing.

He is survived by his better half, Sandra Thrasher, sons, Phillip Griffith (Cristy) and Bryan Griffith (Tiffany); grandchildren, Clay Griffith (McKenzie), Kayela Niemeyer (Hayden), Christopher Griffith (Kaley), Aspyn Griffith, Kaiden Griffith, Josh Stubbs, and Edward Reed; great-grandchildren, Baleigh Griffith, Aiden Griffith and one on the way; sisters, Peadrow Mabry (Leland), and Pat Skinner, and nieces, April Price and Summer Jenkins, nephews, Robert "Ra Ra" Northcutt and Ricky Wayne Stevens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.L. "Dub" Griffith and Margaret Griffith, and his brother, Ricky Wayne Griffith, brothers-in-law, Bud Cunningham and M.L. Skinner, niece, Lisa Skinner, and nephew, Bubba Skinner.
