Billy Rodgers Williams

Funeral services for Billy Williams will be held Sunday, November 6, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in Clarke County with Reverend Kyle Routzahn officiating and friend Everett Webster speaking. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Williams, age 86, of Meridian passed away Wednesday, November 02, 2016 at Rush Foundation Hospital.

Billy graduated from Enterprise High School then served in the United States Air Force. Upon returning home, he became a successful farmer with Brunson-Williams Farms. He proudly served as a board member of the Enterprise School Board for 28 years and the board of directors for East Mississippi Electric Power Association, Meridian Stockyard, Clarke County Co-op, and Clarke County Farm Bureau.

Billy was a lifelong and active member of Union Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and on numerous committees.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Moffett Williams; daughters, Vanessa Moore (Tim) and Sheila Graham (Leon); grandchildren, Adam Moore, Vashti Graham, and Angeline Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Arizona Williams and Grady and Vashti Brunson; and siblings, Hazel Walker, Jewel Taylor, Maurine Weaver, Berniece Nicholson, Richard Williams Jr., and Sarah Williams.

Pallbearers will be Larry Williams, Dudley Williams, Leslie Williams, Brad Williams, Wayne Henson, Bill Fontaine, and Lester Spell.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons and adult men’s Sunday school class of Union Baptist Church.

The family request memorials be made to the Union Baptist Church building fund , 159 County Road 514, Meridian, MS 39301.
