Billy Wayne Moore

Funeral services for Billy Wayne Moore will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Brother Donald Gentry officiating. Burial will follow at Arkadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Moore, age 71, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 3, 2017.

Billy Wayne was the first born son of W.E. “Buddy” and Bertie Jean Moore. He was a 1961 graduate of West Lauderdale High School and enlisted in the US Army upon graduation and served in Vietnam and Korea. While in Korea, he was severely burned from jet fuel. He returned home and worked many years as a serviceman for Carmichael Volkswagon until he was able to open his own wrecker and repair shop in York, AL. Billy Wayne moved back to Bailey twelve years ago to take care of his ailing mother. He loved to tinker on lawnmowers and enjoyed his weekly coffee sessions with his friends. Billy Wayne was a member of Arkadelphia Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Billy W. Moore, Jr and his wife, Angela; grandchildren, Brittany Michele Moore, Charles William Moore, and Mallorie McKenzie Moore; uncle, Robert Hughes, aunt, Kay Hughes Chaney, as numerous cousins, as well as his beloved dog, Bud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sandra Moore Sparks, and his brothers, Bobby Moore and Michael Moore.
