Billy Alvin Williamson

Graveside services for Mr. Billy Williamson will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Antioch Southern Methodist Church Cemetery, 11441 Center Hill Martin Road, Collinsville, MS with Bro. Kyle Kitchens and Russell Williamson officiating.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Billy Williamson, 74, of Meridian, MS passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.

Billy was born March 28, 1946 in Meridian to the late Buddy Williamson and Neater Huggins Williamson Crawford.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War.  Billy proudly wore his beloved Vietnam veteran’s hat and would spend hours engaging other veterans in conversations about their service.  He retired from the City of Meridian Fire Department and later worked security at Anderson Regional Medical Center.  Billy was an avid golfer, jokester, and loved being “Poppie” to his grandkids.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joyce Smith Williamson; his children, Amanda Posey (Jason) and Russell Williamson (Candace); his grandkids, Josh Posey and Makenna Posey; his brother, Raymond Crawford; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Bobby Crawford and Cecil Crawford.
