Funeral services for Mrs. Blanch Marie Dawson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Brother Jim Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church in Whynot. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Mrs. Blanch Marie Dawson, 81, of Spring Hill, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
Mrs. Dawson was born in Meridian, Mississippi and lived most of her life in the Whynot Community. She owned and operated Dawson Upholstery for nearly 30 years. For the next 15 years after retirement from her business, she provided child care in her home and was lovingly known as "Nanny" by her grandchildren, their friends, and the children she tended. For the past 12 years, Mrs. Dawson has lived with her daughter, Vickie, in Spring Hill, Tennessee where she was a member of the Sarah Polk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Dawson is survived by her children, Vickie Dawson, Angie Sowers (Johnny), and Roy Dawson (Chris); her grandchildren, Matthew Jacobs (Ashley), Joel Jacobs (Isis), Kyle Dawson (Heather), Keenum Dawson (Allison), Katie Dawson (Tanner Garrett), and Monica Sowers; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Jacobs, Ava Dawson, Dillon Dawson, Maggie Dawson, Lane Bowden, Jack Dawson, Merrin Dawson, and Cole Garrett; her siblings, Richard Davis (Hilda Faye) and Verla Buchanan; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Victor Dawson; her parents, Thomas Byron and Mary Lois Davis; as well as her brother, Thomas Edgar Davis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
