Services for Blanche Marie West will be held Monday, July 27, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Reverends Larry Reynolds and Marty Harper officiating. Burial will be at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. West, 72, of Meridian, passed away Friday, July 24, at her home, with her husband by her side. She was known by her family and friends as Recie or Ms. Recie. She was a graduate of Long Creek High School and attended East Mississippi Junior College. She was employed by the Lauderdale County School System for twenty-eight years, serving at Northeast, Southeast, and Clarkdale Schools. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Robert W. West, Sr.; sons, Bobby West, Jr. and Richard Tim West; grandchildren, Rann West, David West, Richie West, Season West, and Danielle West; great-grandchildren, Krystofer West, Issac West, and Marlee Che West; and sister, Peggy (Ben) Russell. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Stewart, Sr., and her mother, Edna Blanche Stewart; her step-mother, Willard Sims Stewart; and her brother, Junior Stewart. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Cotton Heights Church Building Fund. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
