Services for Bobby Lunsford will be held Saturday, December 31st, 10:00a.m., at Jones Chapel COG, with the Reverends Ron Leonard and Jeff Hancock officiating.

Mr. Lunsford, 83, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, December 22nd at home surrounded by family.

Mr. Lunsford served as a Marine in Korea, then attended Mississippi State University and earned a bachelor degree from Anderson University in Indiana. He worked with GM, Dayco and Frigidaire. He served as a Board Member and Chairman of the National Safety Council, Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and was the recipient of the National Safety Council’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service to Safety Award. He was a Board Certified Safety Professional and authored “PRO-ACTIVE SAFETY The Total Quality Approach.”

Survivors include wife, Faye; stepchildren, Ron Thompson, Vickie Skinner (Tim), Lisa Hancock (Jeff); five step-grandsons, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Mary Nell Lunsford, brothers-in-law, George Blackwell Jr (Klue) and David Blackwell (Terry).

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mavis Blackwell Lunsford, parents, William Edward and Annie Rowena (Frazier) Lunsford, brothers, William Jr. and Herbert Lunsford, and sister, Eloise Powell.
