Bobby W. Murphy Services for Bobby W. Murphy will be held at Hebron Baptist Church on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Richard Wallace and Reverend Dave Caves officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Murphy, 71, died at Rush Foundation Hospital on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. He served as a deacon at Carmel Baptist Church, 15th Avenue Baptist and was serving as an active deacon at Hebron Baptist Church until his recent illness. He is a former member of the Lauderdale County School Board and was a politically active citizen in Lauderdale County. Bobby was well known for his kind heart and words of encouragement. Bobby served in the military for over forty years in multiple capacities and retired with the Air National Guard. He is survived by his wife Vicki B. Murphy; sons Bruce and wife Sandy and Bryan and his wife Rita; grandchildren Drew and Colby Murphy; brothers Wallace Murphy, Cecil Murphy; sisters Syble Collins and Martha Richards of Ventura, California and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Murphy; brother James Albert Murphy and parents J.A. and Annie Murphy. Pallbearers will be Reverend Frankie Boyette, Glenn Harper, Dale Holyfield, Rodney Moon, Rodney Stephens and Ross Wingo. The family requests memorials be made to Hebron Baptist Church Building Fund.
