Funeral services for Mr. Bobby James Thompson will begin at 10:00 am Monday, December 23, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Donald Gentry officiating. Interment will follow at Arkadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Thompson, 82, of Klondike, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Bobby was a faithful member of Arkadelphia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the choir. Mr. Thompson was an electrician by trade, and through his hard work and dedication, he and his wife founded Thompson Electric, where he was in business for over 25 years. Along side his business, he also ran his family farm with his entire family by his side, teaching them hard work ethics and values as well as being independent adults. Papaw, as he was known by his grandchildren, also lovingly taught his grandchildren the value of education and hard-work.
Mr. Bobby is survived by his daughter, Karon Vick and her husband Jay; Cristy Moffett and her husband Joey; and Cathy Gordon and her husband Brian; Grandchildren, Kyle Vick and his wife Kim, Jessica Vick and her fiancé Patrick Bain, Haleigh Dixon and her husband Ben, Jordan Vick, Josie Gordon, Megan Moffett, and Brett Gordon. Great-grandchildren, Josh Randall, Deakon Vick, and Luke Dixon. Siblings, Mel Trawick and her husband Howard, Jack Thompson and his wife Ann, Martha Lovorn, sister-in-law, Lynda Miller and her husband Perry; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Anita Faye Thompson; parents, Rudolph and Kate Thompson; Siblings, Buck Thompson, Pete Thompson, Bessie Pace, Katherine Thompson, Charlie Thompson, and Ann Gaines.
Pallbearers will be Sons in law and grandsons, Jay Vick, Kyle Vick, Joey Moffett, Ben Dixon, Brian Gordon and Brett Gordon.
