Graveside services celebrating the life of Mr. Bobby James Truelove, Sr. were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba, Alabama, with Brother Jack Giles officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Truelove, age 90, of Meridian, passed away on November 6, 2025 at his residence.
Bobby was born on October 21, 1935 to the late R.E. and Gladys Truelove. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and Air National Guard. Bobby was a contractor and cattleman. He was a Christian and member of Church of The Way. He enjoyed riding his horse, Breezy, and roping steers.
Survivors include his wife, Judy C. Truelove; children, Bobby J. Truelove, Jr. (DeeAnn), Judy Blackwell (Keith), and Caroll Ann Hancock; grandchildren, Justin Hancock, Danielle Bankston (Randy), Tyler Blackwell (Alyse), Matthew J. Truelove, and Clay Truelove; great-grandchildren, Brody Bankston and Denver Bankston; brother, Gary Truelove; friend, George Seaman; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.E. and Gladys Truelove; brother, Billy Truelove; and one sister, Mary Evelyn Perkins.
The family requests that memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Truelove be made to Church of the Way.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Blackwell, Keith Blackwell, Justin Hancock, Jacob Douglas Smith, Britt Kellogg, and Jeff Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Truelove, Clay Truelove, and Thomas Beard.
