Bobby Lee Wilson

Funeral services for Bobby L. Wilson will be held Friday, September 4, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Sephus Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at the Damascus Freewill Baptist Church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Bobby L. Wilson was born Dec. 9, 1933, in Philadelphia, Miss. He passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020, at the age of 86, at his home.

A member of the United States Air Force for more than 40 years, he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was honored in 1979 with the Charles L. Sullivan Leadership Award presented at the Non-Commissioned Officers annual conference for his dedication and reliability.

Following retirement, Wilson served as a transportation coordinator for Norfolk Southern Railroad.

In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and fishing with his grandchildren. He appreciated a good cup of coffee while exchanging stories and anecdotes with friends.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Johnson Wilson; daughters, Cindy W. Arinder (Steve) and Donna Muir (Jeff); grandchildren, DeAnna Killen McCarver (DeWayne), Dustin Killen, and Tanner Muir; great-grandchildren, Kenna Killen, Archer Killen, Camden McCarver, Brayden McCarver, and Blaine McCarver; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Iva Dell Wilson; son-in-law, Tim Killen; siblings, Billy Wilson, Lucille Stephens, and Helen Harrison.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Brasher, Dave Wayne Thomas, Purvis Shelton, Danny Smith, DeWayne McCarver, and Roger Shirley. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorials be made as donations to the American Cancer Society, 8351 County Road 514, Meridian, MS 39301.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 4, 2020, from noon-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
