Bonnie Hurt Gilbert Services for Bonnie Hurt Gilbert will be held Monday August 2, 2010 at 10:00a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Chad Young (her grandson), Reverend Lewis May, and Reverend Tommy D. Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gilbert, of Meridian, died Thursday July 29, 2010 at her residence. She was a member of Bonita Methodist Church. She was a former member of Highland Methodist Church, and she was a former co-owner of Transmission Services Company. We have lost a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and friend. Bonnie was very active in the community and loved her church, gardening, her neighbors, and spending time with her family. She will be missed by many. Survivors include her four daughters, Brenda Gilbert of Sumter, South Carolina, Jimmie Faye Basurto and her husband Eduardo of Plano, Texas, Beth Gilbert of Meridian, Shelia Rawson and Husband Jamie of Aberdeen, Scotland, her three sisters, Sybil Margrave, Lois Goodwin, and Imogene Boswell and her husband James Otis, all of Meridian, her brother, Johnny Mack Hurt of Meridian, a very special family friend, Ceil Bunyard, who gave loving care, her eight grandchildren, Sonny Wedgeworth, Trisha Moore, Debra Horton, David Ray, James Thomas Young, Chad Thomas Young, Amy Poynor McHenry, and Bonnie Elizabeth Burnside, her greatgrandchildren, Billy Wedgeworth, Dustin Hill, Jace Hill, Alyssa Beth Horton, Brandon Horton, Chelsea Horton, Sarah Young, Jenna Young, Chloe McHenry, Cody McHenry, Elijah Ray, Jeremiah Young, Kylie Burnside, Leah Young, Annaleigh Ray, Jacob McHenry, and her one great great grandchild, Layton Wedgeworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Gilbert, her daughter, Peggy Wedgeworth, her brother, Roy Hurt, her parents John Roy and Mattie Hurt, and a grandchild, William Earl Wedgeworth.
