Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery 2638 23rd Avenue, Meridian, Mississippi, immediately following the services. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Nommay, age 92, of Meridian, died Tuesday night at her home on Valley Road. Long before Bonnie began a career, at an early age of 21 years old, she lost her husband of two years, Robert Henry Beasley (nickname: Possum), in an automobile accident at the intersection of 22nd Avenue and "B" Street. Years later, her marriage to Roy Nommay, a steel worker, carried them to many states from West Virginia to Texas. Roy encountered a 50-foot fall, from a building in Jacksonville, Florida where he was high up in the steel "driving rivets" and this brought her back to her hometown of Meridian. During her time in Jacksonville our Lord Jesus Christ saved her. And save her, he did! Upon her return to Meridian and her need to associate with a local Church, she joined Mount Vernon Baptist Church located on Valley road. She continued her membership there until her death. Her heart has always been with this church, their members and the church's mission work. Bonnie received her nurse's degree while studying in Louisville, Kentucky. She then moved back to Meridian and began her career at Jeff Anderson Hospital and served many years with them. At some point later, began working at East Mississippi State Hospital where she worked until her retirement. Survivors include her son Robert (Bobby) Beasley and his wife Dot; her grandchildren Toni Beasley; Robby Beasley, and Chelda O'Dell and her husband Jim; all of Meridian. Her two nieces Louise Cooper Bannister and her husband Randy of Moultrie, Georgia; Ann Miles of Granite City, Missouri; several grand nieces and nephews, cousins, other family members and many friends. Also to be acknowledged is a very special person, Norma George. Bonnie is preceded in death by her husbands Robert Henry Beasley; Leroy C. Nommay, her parents Samuel W. Jones and Eunie Bell Whitlock Jones nickname (Goodie); as well as her two sisters Ethel Cooper, Thelma Heitman, and one brother, Clyde W. Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideon's, P.O. Box 708, Meridian, Mississippi 39301 to purchase Bibles, the Crises Center P. O.
