Graveside service for Bryant “Ricky” Reese, Jr. will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 PM with Bro. Davey Wilkinson, Bro. Joe Anderson and Bro. Frankie Boyette officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Mr. Ricky age 77, of Meridian passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Ricky graduated from Meridian High School in 1960, where he played in the band. He graduated from the Meridian School of Radiologic Technology in 1972. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and a Mason.
Ricky started working at age 10 washing cars at his uncle Red Boswell’s service station. During his life he worked as a mechanic, X-Ray technician, the first instructor in the X-Ray program at MCC and retired as a law enforcement officer with MDOT.
As a young man his passion was dirt track racing. He was known as “The Doctor” and co-owned several race cars. As he got older, he and JoAnn became members of The Gold Wing Road Riders Association and spent many years riding and traveling with their friends. He was always the life of the party.
Ricky was a life-long member of Carmel Baptist Church, singing in the choir, serving as a deacon, trustee and teaching the adult men Sunday school class.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years JoAnn Wilkinson Reese; children, Dana Pippen (Jeff), Amy Reese and Leslie Reese (Anita); grandchildren, Will Reese, Ashley Pippen, Jeff Pippen (Maggie), Christopher Pippen, Amber Salers (Bobby), Bryan “BJ” Eshee; great-granddaughter, Katherine Salers; numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant L. Reese, Sr. and Ruby Johnson Reese.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons and the Adult Men Sunday School Class.
