Burna "Bill" Turnage

Graveside services for Mr. Burna "Bill" Turnage will be held at a later date at Turnage Family Cemetery in Meehan, MS.

Mr. Bill Turnage, 78, of Meridian, MS, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026.

Bill worked at Mozingo's Bonita Grocery store and the City of Meridian for many years until he moved to Birmingham, AL where he worked for Bruno's Grocery Store until his retirement. He then moved back to Meridian, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with friends. He also loved attending church, and the family takes comfort in knowing that he is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Glory.

He is survived by his sons Derrick Turnage (Breanne) and Jeremy Turnage, grandchildren; Andrew Turnage and Cayleigh Turnage, sisters; Mary Henard (Jim), Patsy Vaughn (Larry), Lois Dean (Charles), Dianne Floyd, and Lola Grayson (Tim), brother Dennis Turnage, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christian Turnage, his parents, Sam and Zavy Mae Turnage, brothers; Roy Turnage and Terry Sam Turnage.
