A graveside service for Buster Barrett will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM with Bro. Joseph Buckley officiating, with burial to follow. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Buster Barrett, age 68, of Little Rock, Mississippi, passed into the arms of Jesus on April 27, 2026, at home, surrounded by family and friends, after battling with cancer.
Buster was born on October 3, 1957, in Meridian, Mississippi. He spent many years owning and operating The Red Hot Truck Stop and in later years worked for Waste Management. Buster was always willing to lend a hand doing odds and ends for family and friends. He had a deep love for old trucks and "junk" as he liked to call it, and even in retirement, he could most often be found outside, happily working on his latest project.
Buster was well known in the Duffee community as someone who would do anything for anyone. Whether sitting at Duffee Grocery early in the morning or late into the evening to make sure everyone got home safely, or being the first one many called if they needed assistance with their vehicle, Buster was always more concerned with the well-being of others. His care extended not only to the people he loved, but also to his many chickens and his beloved dogs.
He is survived by his son, William "Eric" Barrett; his granddaughters, Emily, Emma, and Addison; his devoted sister, Rachel, who was by his side until the end; his sisters, Mary Ann and Faye; his brothers, Wayne and John; his best friend, Jody; and many nieces and nephews who all loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty; his brother, Jerry; and his parents, Clifford and Mary.
Eric and his family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Susie and Scott Morgan, who were there when they could not be-attending doctor's appointments, advocating for Buster throughout his treatment, and helping ensure his final days were surrounded by those who loved him and filled with peace and love.
Pallbearers will be Scott Morgan, Danny Talley, Wayne Hunt, Jr., Leroy Cutway, Jason Dall and Adam Bolen.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations to be made to Buster's final burial expenses at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home online or by phone.
