Carl Dean Saterfiel

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Carl Dean Saterfiel will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Brother Kyle Naylor will officiate the services. Interment rites will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Martin. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Saterfiel, age 86, of Meridian passed away on July 26, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Carl was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and yardwork. He served his country in the United States Navy. In Meridian, he worked as a policeman and retired from the Navy Base as a fireman. He also served as the Assistant Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department in the Martin Community. He was a Christian and was a member of Pine Grove Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Sonja Saterfiel; daughters, Donna Denton (Bob) and Carla Saterfiel; grandchildren, David P’pool (Danielle), Charissa Scott (Shokry AbdelHafez), Felicia Scott (Clint Mitchell), Hannah Scott, and Noah Morrison; step grandchildren, Bobby Denton, Liara Kemp, and Madison Craft; great-grandchildren, Davey P’pool, AbdulRahman AbdelHafez, Colton Mitchell, AbdulRahim AbdelHafez, McKenna Mitchell, Subhaiyya AbdelHafez, Loken Niblack, Leif Niblack, and Ilyas AbdelHafez; step great-grandchild, Athena Darty; sister, Dell Bennett; brother, Ken Saterfiel (Rose); his best friend, Roy Gunter; his beloved dog, Daisy; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adie Joseph and Mary Etta Saterfiel, and ten siblings.

Pallbearers will be David P’pool, Shokry AbdelHafez, Clint Mitchell, Davey P’pool, Roy Gunter, Noah Morrison, and Bob Denton.
