Funeral services for Mrs. Carla Joy Sanderford will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Martin Community with Bro. Bryan Culpepper and Kim Culpepper officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to entrusted with the arrangements.

Carla Culpepper Sanderford, 65, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2024, at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.

Carla “Joy”, as fittingly named, was a loving wife, mother, aunt and “Big Mama” to her family, and “dog-mom” to “George Washington”. After her faith, she loved her family more than anything in this world. If you were around Carla long enough, you were going to laugh.

She leaves a son, Phillip (Casey) Culpepper and stepdaughter, Caitlin (Scotty) Hatcher: two brothers, Kim (Cathy) Culpepper and Bryan (Cindy) Culpepper; two grandsons, Grayson and John Luke Culpepper, and nieces and nephews, Dusty (Tori) Culpepper, Kristen Culpepper Isom (Chris), Justin (Veronica) Culpepper, Jared (Brandy) Culpepper, and Caleb Culpepper (Carmen Keller).

She was preceded in death by her husband Sandy Sanderford, her parents Rusty and Mackie Culpepper, and grandparents Calvin Loma Brown, Ferrell (Clinton) Vaughn, and Obie and Lorene Culpepper.

Carla was a resident of the Martin and Clarkdale communities. After graduating from West Lauderdale, she worked at Peavey Electronics, Delco Remy, and retired from Tower Automotive, where she was a forklift operator, after 17 years. Carla attended Pine Grove Church and the Evangel Temple Church, where she sang in the choir.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Culpepper, Justin Culpepper, Jared Culpepper, Caleb Culpepper, Chris Isom, Cal Culpepper, and Cade Culpepper.

The Culpepper family will receive guests from 9:00am until 10:30 am prior to funeral services at Pine Grove Church.
